A PLANNING appeal over proposals to demolish a former equestrian and country leisure store in Hallow and build four new homes have been dismissed by a government planning inspector.

But an amended scheme for the site on Main Road, Hallow, is to go ahead after planning permission was granted by Malvern Hills District Council.

The original plans for the property were turned down by the council in April on the grounds that it would be an overdevelopment, parking, height of the buildings, massing of dwellings at the roadside and lack of amenity space.

Inspector John Roberts has also now dismissed an appeal against that decision.

However amended plans ommitting two garage blocks, reducing the height of the homes, increasing amenity space and re-siting the apartment block were approved by the council in August.
