YOUNGSTERS with greenfingers at a Worcester school have been growing plants and learning about the environment.
Perry Wood Primary School has established the Woodpecker Nurture group, which aims to help pupils with different needs.
Children spend time each day taking part in different activities – such as gardening – which encourage them to work together.
A spokesman at the school said: “The Woodpecker Nurture group is an important and integral part of our school. Our nurture group provides a secure, predictable and supportive environment where the different developmental needs of identified pupils are accepted and catered for.”
The group is staffed by a teacher and a learning support assistant who work closely together with a small group of about 10 children at any one time.
