A FIFTY-year-old man sexually assaulted a disabled woman as she sat in a taxi in Worcester.
Kevin Bird staggered up to the woman as she was waiting for a taxi by Marks and Spencer.
Despite asking him to leave, Bird stayed and when the taxi arrived he kissed her on the cheek.
When she was inside the car he sexually assaulted her and made sexual remarks.
In a victim impact statement the woman, who suffers from cerebral palsy, said: “I feel I need support in talking about the incident.
“I could not sleep after it happened. I do feel vulnerable and I will not sit outside in case he sees me.”
Bird admitted the sexual assault, which happened on Wednesday, September 3.
Barry Newton, defending, said: “We have here a man who was clearly very drunk, makes inappropriate remarks and touches the breast.
“I would say he does not pose a serious risk to members of the public.”
Speaking at the hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court, District Judge Bruce Morgan said: “This was a distasteful and cowardly attack on a lady in a wheelchair.”
Bird, of Ombersley Street West, in Droitwich, was given conditional bail and will appear before Worcester Crown Court on Friday, January 2, for sentence.
