A 13-YEAR-OLD Worcester girl, joined by eight of her friends, will put on a musical concert for shoppers this weekend in memory of her brother who died at Worcester’s Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Corah Lewis hopes to raise more than £600 on Saturday, when the group perform a variety of Christmas numbers on their flutes.

The girls, all pupils at the King’s School, Worcester, will be in CrownGate Shopping Centre between 2pm and 4pm.

Corah’s baby brother Fraser, who was born with severe epilepsy, died aged five months old on December 20, 1999. Fraser’s twin, Hayden, is now a healthy nine-year-old.

His mother Sadie Lewis, a trustee of Acorns, said: “Christmas is always a difficult time for the family.

“Even though it was a long time ago, Corah remembers the time we spent at Acorns when her brother was very poorly.

“She knows how important that time was to us and how much the hospice helped.

“So I am very proud of her doing this for Acorns.”

This will be the third year Corah has organised the Christmas concert.

Corah said: “Playing my flute and raising money helps me enjoy this time of year.

“We have done this for two years now and altogether we have raised £850.

“This year we are playing on a Saturday rather than a Thursday evening. So we are hoping to add a lot to this total. As well as raising money for the hospice we have a great time and lots of laughs doing it.”
