A PINK-themed fund-raising day at an opticians helped to raise some much-needed funds for Breast Cancer Care.
Staff at Specsavers dressed up in pink-coloured clothing served tea, coffee and pink cakes to customers at patients at the store in Broad Street.
Senior receptionist Val Paine said £85 was raised for the charity which supports people diagnosed with breast cancer and their families through a range of free services.
“It was a wonderful day,” she said.
“We served tea, coffee, and pink cakes to all and sundry and people dug deep in their pockets and gave as much as they could with the recession.
"It all goes to a good cause. Everybody had a good day and it was much appreciated by all of the customers and patients as well.”
