SEVEN magistrates have been sworn in to administer law across Worcestershire.
Six men and one woman took an oath of allegiance at Worcester Crown Court yesterday and will now sit in courts throughout the county.
They each added their name to an historic scroll of parchment, believed to be more than 50 feet long, which dates back to 1894 and has been signed by every magistrate to sit in Worcestershire.
Judge Alistair McCreath presided over the ceremony where the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire Michael Brinton was also sworn in as a Justice of the Peace.
The new magistrates are Simon Freebairn, Chris Mitchell, Andy Phelps, Terry Clinton, Ken Knight, Anita Gandham and Nathan Poole.
