THE first snow of winter could hit higher ground in Worcestershire this weekend as temperatures drop below freezing.
Worcester News weather expert Paul Damari says the north of England will get the worst of the wintry blast with snow, freezing rain and black ice but any snow or sleet in Worcestershire will be gone by the time most people get up on Sunday morning.
He said temperatures will drop for a touch of frost in Worcestershire on Saturday night followed by rain or sleet on lower ground and possibly wet snow on higher levels.
“This will be overnight on Saturday and in the early hours of Sunday morning. By the time most of us get up on Sunday it will be raining. There is not much snow in the offing for our area,” he said.
By Monday, conditions will have reutrned to bright and dry with sunny spells and the odd shower with temperatures around normal at 9C or 10C (48F to 50F), he said.
