A CYCLIST has been killed after being involved in a collision with another vehicle.
The County Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene after on the A443 in Hallow, near the Crown Inn, at about 1.50pm.
The helicopter landed in a field opposite the Royal Oak pub as fire and police arrived.
A section of the road between the two pubs was closed off to all vehicles for more than three hours while police officers carried out their investigations.
The road closure caused traffic chaos.
Sgt Richard Robson, senior investigating officers, said the male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
“We are still gathering evidence and speaking to witnesses," he said.
Sgt Robson added no arrests have been made and the cyclist had not been identified.
Nigel Whatford-Peters, landlord at the Royal Oak, was in his pub when he heard the accident happen.
“I heard a bit of a bang which sounded a bit like the back door of a lorry being shut but I didn’t think anything more of it.”
He only realised what had happened when the emergency services arrived.
