TEENAGERS as young as 16 can now get into the driving seat under supervision.
Worcestershire Group of Advanced Motorists has announced an expansion with spaces for 16 year olds who would like to experience driving in a dual controlled car with a driving instructor.
Fifteen-year-olds can also apply to go on the waiting lists for the Young Drivers’ Scheme, which has been running for more than 26 years.
It gives thousands of young people an early start in learning to drive under controlled conditions on private land.
The idea is pupils are linked with local instructors so by the time they reach 17, they know both the car and the instructor and can drive with confidence.
To apply for the next scheme day on Sunday, January 18, download an application from worcadv mot10.fsnet.co.uk.
Applicants can also write to The YDS Organiser, 62 Lickhill Road North, Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire. DY13 8RU.
