AN IDEA which came from a brainstorming session in January of Malvern’s springs and wells enthusiasts has now become a reality.

A new leaflet has been produced guiding people along a walk where they can see the springs and spouts of the northern Malvern Hills.

Members of the Malvern Spa Association came up with the idea at their annual meeting brainstorming session earlier this year and have worked on producing the publication with David Armitage, the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty assistant manager.

The cash to produce the leaflet has come from the Heritage Lottery Fund and it contains a map with a suggested walk taking people past many of the historic water features.

There is also information about each feature and where Malvern water comes from.

The walk is divided into two sections – the northern loop which takes in North Hill and the southern loop around the Worcestershire Beacon and through the Wyche Cutting.

The leaflet is free from tourist information centres.

Chairman of the spa association Dr John Harcup said: “They are going like hot cakes.

“It is a great success.”
