A SHOPLIFTER who stole meat, children’s bikes and clothing to fund a drug habit has been warned he is on his last chance.

Paul Griffin, of Arboretum Road, Worcester, had previously admitted three separate thefts when he appeared for sentencing at the city’s magistrates court.

He was caught on CCTV at the city’s Marks and Spencer store stealing £60 of meat on Sunday, October 12.

Two days later he was chased by store detetctives from Woolworths after he was seen trying to get away with two children’s bicycles.

Later the same day he was in Matalan, in Roman Way, Malvern, when he was spotted stealing £93.50 in child’s clothing and was arrested by police nearby.

Griffin, aged 31, was given consecutive four-week jail sentences for the offences suspended for a year and ordered to pay £60 costs.

Paul Stott, deputy district judge, said: “I may be setting you up to fail but it is in your hands - breach this order and you will go down.”
