A FIVE-minute video about people’s thoughts on their own faith has gone global.

The Worcester people are starring on YouTube after completing the Alpha Course, which is a no-obligation introduction to Christianity, at St Peter’s Baptist Church, Worcester.

The group, which includes a barrister and a housewife, each discuss the positive effects the course has had on their lives.

Martin Hodson, senior baptist church minister, said not all of the dozen people attending the 10-week course were believers.

He said: “Some people don’t even believe in God, some have a vague understanding of what Christianity is about but it’s a no pressure course.”

He said the video was uploaded to the popular video site after a positive reaction from church-goers and has received more than 100 hits.

Each weekly session at the church begins with a meal before discussion of a key Christian topic such as the life of Jesus Christ, with everybody encouraged to have a say. Tim Greenwood is a site manager for a delivery company and a regular at church services.

The 27-year-old, of Elmsfield Gardens, off London Road, decided to go on the course with then wife-to-be Helen to find out more about his own faith.

“It’s presented in palatable explanations and discusses whether the Bible is reliable,” he explained.

“You could disagree or use the course just to find out more.

“For some people walking into a church on a Sunday is big step because you don’t know what it will be like.”

Chrissy Smith, a Slimming World consultant, of Greathouse Road, St John’s, said: “All my questions were answered no matter how simple or silly.”

Mr Hodson said: “We’ve had people who’ve said it has reignited their faith and sceptics who have gone away still sceptical.”
