JOB-seekers and people looking for a learning boost are being reminded of the host of courses on offer.
The UK Online Centre at Worcester YMCA, in Henwick Road, St John’s is one of five centres across the county offering popular courses.
Rachel Coss, learning centre manager, said the courses were flexible enough to fit any diary and could benefit everyone from the unemployed to the elderly.
She explained: “You don’t have to wait until September to start, it’s up to you, and you can study from home. We’ve now got more new courses through UK Online including free IT short courses and we’re open six days a week.”
Courses include the popular ECDL qualification, employments skills including interview technique and CV writing, maths and English levels one and two and a huge variety of NVQs including customer service, retail and social care.
Employers whose workers wish to do an NVQ will be able to claim wages for the employee’s study time up to 70 hours during work time after Christmas. The centre is open between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Saturdays, and closes at 5pm in the week excluding Mondays and Wednesdays when the centre is open until 8pm.
The courses will also run at Pickersleigh Community Centre, Evesham Community Contact Centre and Droitwich Community Contact Centre with further information available by calling 01905 741008.
