THE great two counties public has risen to number of sweets in the occasion once again and helped the nation raise a record-breaking £20,991,216 for Children in Need.
In the West Midlands alone a staggering £1,692,356 was raised.
Fun-filled fund-raisers in the two counties went Children in Need crazy, dressing up in a variety of guises for the big day – pyjamas being a popular choice – staging cake sales and a whole host of charity competitions.
David Ramsden, chief executive of BBC Children in Need said: “I am completely overwhelmed by the way the country has come together demonstrating such generosity in these tough times and I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved.”
