A BURST water main is causing rush hour traffic problems this evening on one of Worcester’s busiest roads.
Firefighters were called to flats on the A38 Sidbury, close to the junction with Wyld’s Lane, shortly before 12.30pm this afternoon.
A broken water main had flooded the building’s electrics, and Severn Trent Water said it was unable to isolate the water supply.
Contractors had to be called in to begin digging up the main road, causing traffic problems into the evening.
Fire crews were in attendance throughout the afternoon, with relief crews eventually called out soon after 6pm.
Work was expected to continue well into the evening.
