TIME is running out for talented youngsters to enter the Young Musician of Malvern competition.
The competition is open to young people aged between 11 and 21-years-old and there's a £500 prize for the winner as well as the opportunity to perform in the Forum Theatre.
The entry deadline for the competition, which is being held as part of Malvern Festival's 80th anniversary celebrations taking place next year, is Sunday, November 30.
Sophie McLellan, education officer at Malvern Theatres, said: “This competition is open to all young people, and we are receiving interest from all over the country.
“It's not an exclusive competition only for experienced classical musicians - we want entries from all walks of life, playing all genres. It's going to be a celebration of exciting young talent.”
Solo musicians can enter one of five categories - wind, brass, strings, percussion, and keys. Heats will be held in February and a winner from each category will go through to a final in May. Entrants will need to provide their own accompanist.
Entry forms are available on Malvern Theatres' website, malvern-theatres.co.uk, and at the box office.
