A WORCESTER teenager will be performing for hundreds of people with a prestigious dance company.
Katie Webb has secured various principal roles with the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain and will be performing in Birmingham next week.
The 17-year-old is dancing in a new full company piece entitled NYB in Town Tonight and The Old Man of Lochnagar.
Donna Phillips, spokesman for the ballet company, said: “Katie has been with us for five or six years; we have had her since she was quite little and this is her final year.”
The second ballet was inspired by the book written by Prince Charles, whose voiceover fills the auditorium as the curtain rises.
It has been written and choreographed by 22-year-old Drew McOnie.
Katie will be dancing in front of patrons of the ballet company and VIPs, some of whom may be talent spotting.
A supporting programme is hoped to have audiences young and old dancing in the aisles.
The performance at the Birmingham Hippodrome is on Sunday. For tickets call 0844 338 5000.
The teenager will also be dancing at the Ashcroft Theatre in Croydon from Thursday, February 19, to Saturday, February 21. For tickets call 0208 688 9291.
