TWO colleagues have raised thousands for a Worcester charity by canoeing along the river Severn.
Colin Summers, left, and Stan Cullen, right, who work for asset management company MITIE, spent seven days paddling along a 127-mile stretch of Britain’s longest river.
They raised £10,000 for Acorns Children’s Hospice, which cares for children with life-limiting illnesses and has a centre in Bath Road, Worcester.
Mr Cullen said: “Our training helped us a lot, but we are now aching in places that we never thought possible.
“It was a truly memorable challenge and all in aid of a very deserving cause.”
The pair, who are novice paddlers, started at Pool Quay near Welshpool and continued until they reached Gloucester.
Donations can still be made via justgiving.co.uk/thebigpaddle. The pair are pictured with James Elliott, of Acorns Children’s Hospice.
