ENERGY-SAVING light bulbs have been handed out as part of a new police campaign to get people to ‘Lighten Up’.
More than 800 were given out along with leaflets outside Worcester’s Guildhall to highlight West Mercia Constabulary’s crime prevention campaign on Tuesday.
Community support officers (CSOs) Barry Hale, Natasha Harris and Amanda Watkins were also giving advice on how people can improve their home security during the winter.
The police were also keen to show their green credentials handing out energy-saving bulbs donated by npower and asking people to use a timer switch.
Officers also advised people to keep valuables out of view and look for more crime prevention tips by visiting westmercia.police.uk.
