TWIN brothers had a wild time after organising a sale and fun day for animal charities.
Thomas and William Hodgetts, both eight, organised the event at Lower Broadheath memorial hall, near Worcester, to raise money for the RSPB and PDSA, the UK’s leading veterinary charity. The two, both pupils at King’s St Albans, helped put together the successful event – with a little help from mum Rachel Hodgetts, raising more than £300 which will be split between the two causes.
William said: “We were amazed so many people came along and pleased to have raised so much money for our charities.”
Thomas said: “It’s important people help to feed birds over the winter so we showed them how to make bird seed cake to take home and attract birds to their gardens.”
More than 200 people turned up to look at the books, children’s clothes and cards and other items on sale but the biggest draw was provided by several wild party guests courtesy of Angie Blake’s Animal Antics. The wildlife on display ranged from feathered brids of prey including Chirpy, the British barn owl, and Marmalade the corn snake.
