CHRISTMAS cards for good causes are being sold at churches in Worcester city centre.
At least 79 pence from every £1 spent on the wide range of Christmas cards on sale at Old St Martin’s Church and St Helen’s Church go to charities.
Among those to benefit from the scheme are Acorns Children’s Hospice, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and the Friends of Worcester Cathedral.
National charities such as Cancer Research UK, Arthritis Research and Macmillan Cancer Support are also represented among the 28 charities.
Julie Smith, shop manager at Old St Martin’s Church, Cornmarket, said: “We have also got wrapping paper and gifts as well as the cards.”
The shop at Old St Martin’s is open 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays, while the shop at St Helen’s Church, Fish Street, is open 9.30am until 4.30pm on the same days.
The cards will be sold at St Helen’s until Friday, December 12, while Old St Martin’s will sell them until Tuesday, December 16.
Meanwhile, anybody wishing to become a volunteer should contact Julie Smith on 01905 821580.
