DISNEY ON ICE: FINDING NEMO NATIONAL INDOOR AREA, B’HAM

I GUESS I’m just a big kid at heart, but I absolutely love children’s films.

So when I found out that one of my favourites, Finding Nemo, had been turned into an ice show, I was only too keen to go and see it. And I was not disappointed.

Never having been to an ice show before I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but what I got was a magical evening full of colour, music and surprise.

The audience was plunged into the amazing underwater world of lovable clownfish Nemo, his overprotective father Marlin and the evercheerful and optimistic Dory.

The costumes were magnificent and vibrant, and with the superb set, it really did feel like you were under the sea.

Probably one of my favourite moments were the jelly fish.

Such a simple idea of cloth over two poles, looked spectacular on the ice as dozens of jelly fish moved around lit in pink.

It was quite magical.

The performers, especially Dory, were all excellent, gliding around the ice flawlessly, pulling off stunts that any Dancing on Ice judge would be proud of.

For adults and children, the show was full of wonder and a real spectacle to behold.

The show runs at the NIA until Sunday, November 16.
