A BRITISH Legion bugler played the Last Post to pupils at St Nicholas CE Middle School in Pinvin, near Pershore, as part of a moving remembrance event.
The whole school gathered yesterday to hear written and first-hand accounts from soldiers who fought in the two world wars as well as in more modern conflicts and remember those who lost their lives fighting for their country.
Ray Heeks and other veterans from the Pinvin British Legion talked to the children.
Headteacher Keiran Saddington said: “The accounts the children heard from veterans enriched their understanding of the many differing human dimensions to war.”
The Rev Chris Stuart led the service and afterwards took a poppy wreath made by the children to the war memorial in Pinvin Church.
