HEREFORD United manager Gra-ham Turner hopes Bruno N’Gotty does not de-cide to call time on his illustrious career.
Former France international N’Gotty, who was in the second month of a loan spell at Edgar Street, ruptured his Achilles early on in the 2-0 League One defeat at Peter-borough last Saturday.
The 37-year-old defender faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines and the possibility of having to hang up his boots altogether.
Parent club Leicester City will oversee N’Gotty’s treatment and rehabilitation, bringing a premature end to his time at Hereford after seven appearances.
Turner, though, has been impressed with the player and would like to see him prolong a career that has seen him play for some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Bulls chief said: “I feel dreadfully sorry for him. At 37 years of age a serious injury, like a ruptured Achilles tendon, means that it is going to be a long, hard road for him to recover, if he does at all.
“He has had an outstanding career with such prominent clubs as AC Milan, Paris St Germain and Bolton Wanderers, among others.
“He made the job of defending look easy with his footballing intelligence and his simple use of the ball. We just hope that he decides to give it another go and does not call it a day at this stage.”
