ACTING greats Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellan are to perform at the Malvern Theatres.
The British stage and screen stalwarts take to the stage in March next year with the award-winning play Waiting For Godot.
The two-hander, voted "the most significant English language play of the 20th century”, will open at Malvern, before its national tour.
Earlier this year Stewart received rave reviews for his role in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Hamlet.
Well known for starring in television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, he last performed in Malvern in 2003.
He and McKellan, who played the wizard Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings movies and starred in The Da Vinci Code, famously acted together in the blockbuster X-Men films.
Waiting For Godot, written by Samuel Beckett, was premiered in 1953.
It revolves around two tramps who eat, sleep, sing and discuss suicide to pass the time as they wait for the mysterious Godot, who never arrives.
It will run from Thursday, March 5 to Saturday, March 14. Tickets - expected to sell fast - will range from £26 to £35. To book call the Malvern Theatre box office in 01684 892277 or visit malvern-theatres.co.uk
