THE pick of Worcestershire’s tourist firms have made it to the final of the industry’s regional Oscars ceremony.
The county has six finalists in this year’s Heart of England Excellence in Tourism Awards being held at the International Convention Centre Birmingham on Tuesday, November 11.
Judging has already finished and entrants will only discover where they have placed following the night’s gala dinner.
The nominated firms are:
- UK Boat Hire, of Lowesmoor Wharf, in Worcester, for Commercial Tourism Website of the Year
- Bewdley Tourist Information Centre for Tourist Information Service Award
- Severn Valley Railway, of Kidderminster, for Best Tourism Experience
- The Olde Rectory, in Whitbourne, for Self-Catering Holiday of the Year
- Windrush House, in Broadway, for best Bed & Breakfast and Guest Accommodation
- Dormy House, near Broadway for Small Hotel/Townhouse of the Year The firms have battled a tough year for Worcestershire’s tourist industry with disappointing summer weather on the back of last year’s washout floods.
Each nominee will receive an award or a commendation with the best going through to the national Enjoy England tourism industry awards.
