FOLLOWING rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, rock star comedian Tim Minchin is coming to Worcester.
Passing through the city on his major UK tour, Australian-born Minchin will perform at Huntingdon Hall on Wednesday, November 12. The musical comedian’s current show, Ready For This, was a sell-out at the Fringe and prompted critics to heap praise upon him.
Previously described as a “lyricist of diabolical ingenuity”, he will use song to trample on topics ranging from sex, death, religion to dancing bears and ginger body hair.
If that was not incentive enough, Minchin was winner of Perrier Award for Best Newcomer in 2005 and named Best Alternative Comedian at US Comedy Arts Festival last year.
For tickets call the Worcester Live box office on 01905 611427.
Elsewhere in Worcester, the Hell in a Cellar comedy nights at Worcester Arts Workshop continue to grow and the Comedy Zone will bring northern comedian Justin Moorhouse to Worcester’s Marr’s Bar on Thursday, November 13.
Perhaps best known for his role as Young Kenny in the award-winning Phoenix Nights, Moorhouse as a stand-up has already supported Jimmy Carr and Peter Kay. In this show, Ever Decreasing Social Circle, he is on a mission to discover his five true friends.
For tickets, priced £10, call Music City on 01905 26600.
