Silence fell on Nunnery Wood High School, Worcester, when pupils took part in a sponsored silence to raise awareness of children with speech and language impairments, as well as raising funds for charity Afasic, which helps children with such disorders. Lesley Hemmings, from the school, said: “We have a growing number of pupils with speech and language difficulties and so I organised for a small number of pupils to take part.”
