SHOPPERS in Worcester city centre will be able to find out how to save energy in the home and workplace today and tomorrow.
Worcestershire County Council, Worcester City Council, Sanctuary Housing Group, and Warmfront are just some of the organisations which will be setting up stalls in CrownGate shopping centre.
They will be on hand to give people energy efficiency advice and information, hand out goodie bags and carry out energy efficiency surveys.
The event will take place between 9am and 4pm in Friary Walk.
The organisations will also be promoting the Big Switch Off in which residents, companies and venues across Worcestershire are all being encouraged to switch off all electrical equipment they are not using between 4.30pm and 6.30pm tomorrow.
Worcester City Council’s private sector initiatives officer Barbara Sarbinowska said: “Saving energy is such an important issue, it not only helps protect the environment, but helps save money too, which, in today’s climate is essential.
“We hope that people will come and visit us in CrownGate and be inspired to get involved and join in the Big Switch Off.”
CrownGate centre manager Erica Burlace said: “Energy efficiency is a topic that is high on our agenda here at CrownGate, and we are in the process of implementing even more energy saving measures and equipment as part of our refurbishment.”
