CHILDREN from schools across Worcester donned fancy dress outfits to celebrate National Book Week.
At Perry Wood Primary School, children got dressed up as their favourite characters and read some of their favourite stories. A spokesman at the school said: “It was a fantastic day and the children really got in the spirit of things.”
Meanwhile, at RGS The Grange witches and wizards were on the loose. The school focused the week on poetry writing and all pupils got to read their poems aloud.
“Children’s Book Week is always a great opportunity to captive and inspire children,”
said Tim Lowe, headteacher at The Grange.
“It has been a great week. I am sure the pupils, like myself, can’t wait for next year.”
And at Cranham Primary School, Alice in Wonderland was the theme for the day, with a whole day of art taking place.
Parents produced their own artwork, and there was a Mad Hatter’s tea party.
