A West Mercia policeman has abandoned his appeal against a conviction for harrassing a woman with multiple sclerosis.
At Gloucester crown court lawyers for Robert Wallace, 43, of Caldy Avenue, St Peter's, Worcester, formally withdrew his appeal and Judge Michael Harington ordered him to pay costs of £320.
PC Wallace had been found guilty on October 10 last year of harrassing girlfriend Lynn Detheridge after she broke off their three year affair.
Gloucester Magistrates Court heard how Wallace tried to win back Ms Detheridge's affections with a bizarre campaign of harassment - which included sellotaping 'Love Heart' sweets to her front door.
PC Wallace, a father-of-two, received a 12-month community order and 100 hours community service.
After his conviction he lodged an appeal against his conviction but yesterday, more than a year after being found guilty, he dropped his case.
