JOBSEEKERS in Malvern could be in line for an early Christmas present if they turn up to a jobs fair next week.
Over 150 full and part time jobs will be available at the fair organised by Jobcentre Plus and being held at Malvern Theatres on Monday October 20 from 10am to 2pm.
The jobs that are up for grabs include retail assistants, care workers, manufacturing and hospitality staff. While most of them are temporary, some positions could become permanent in the New Year.
Louise Alexander, recruitment adviser for Jobcentre Plus Malvern, said: “More and more people are recognising the benefits of short-term seasonal work as a great way to sample different jobs and develop or maintain skills for their future career.
“For some people, such as parents with young children or people who want to return to work after ill health or with a disability, seasonal work can be particularly beneficial. It can fit in with individuals’ lifestyles, child care or provide a way of easing back into employment.”
Jobcentre staff will be on hand to help people with their applications and set up interviews. They will also be able to tell people about a range of additional help, including support for people aged over 50, lone parents and people with disabilities.
They can also give information about financial help that may be available for those starting work.
