A 44-year-old learner driver has been banned from driving for a year after he travelled unaccompanied in a car without L plates.
Mark Harris admitted driving not in accordance with his licence when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court.
Marie Watton, prosecuting, said Harris already had nine points on his provisional licence - two for speeding offences and one for not driving in accordance with his licene.
She said Harris, of Old Orchard, Tunnel Hill, near Upton-upon-Severn, had been banned from driving for six months by the courts in October 2005.
In mitigation Mark Turnbull said both his client was under pressure at the time of the latest incident on Friday, August 1, this year.
“He is a provisional licence holder and on this occassion both he and his wife were preparing for a close family friend’s wedding,” he said.
“He needed a particular suit and he was told where he could possibly get one. The person who usually accompanies him was involved in the wedding so he took the decision to drive without his L plates on that ocassion.”
Deputy District Judge Davis put three points on his licence meaning he reached the 12 point limit. He was fined £50 and made to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
