THIEVES have stolen £5,000 of fireworks from a supermarket less than a month before bonfire night.
Boxed fireworks were taken from the rear of Morrisons in The Link, Evesham, between 3am and 4am yesterday.
The theft prompted a police warning to revellers not to buy fireworks from unofficial sources.
A police spokesman said: “If anyone is offered fireworks from anywhere other than a recognised outlet, we would like to hear from them immediately.”
Anyone with information about the theft is urged to contact police on 08457 444888, quoting reference 19N/161008, or call Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
