FREE comprehensive car health checks are being offered by a Worcester firm to help keep drivers safe on the roads this autumn.
HiQ Worcester in Droitwich Road is preparing for the end of British summertime by offering the measure, after a survey revealed that many motorists ignore the hazards posed by wet weather conditions.
A company questionnaire revealed that 32 per cent of people do not alter their driving habits in the rain, despite stopping distances often doubling on wet roads.
As a result, HiQ is offering free eight-point health checks in an attempt to get more motorists to keep their cars in good condition and think carefully before travelling in the rain.
Hi-Q’s comprehensive eight point winter health check, includes checking and adjusting pressures on all five tyres, including tread depth and wheel alignment, checking battery and clean and grease terminals, checking the condition of front and rear wiper blades, washers and headlamps, checking the condition of side, tail, main, dip, stop, reverse, indicators, hazard, fog and spot lights, checking engine oil and filters, inspecting the exhaust, fan belt, hoses and fasteners, radiators and connections, and antifreeze.
HiQ communications manager James Bailey said: “With the clocks about to go back to signal the end of British summertime, we thought it was appropriate to promote the importance of safe driving in inclement weather conditions.
“For customers looking to get their cars prepared for the cold weather, a comprehensive check carried out by fully trained technicians is ideal.”
