ALMOST 100,000 people across Worcestershire and Hereforshire are being reminded to file their tax returns by the end of this month.
HM Revenue & Customs set a deadline for paper returns of Friday, October 31.
Nine million people across the country have to file a tax return, including 98,000 in the two counties.
Previously, the deadline for them to submit paper and online tax returns was January 31, but from this year anyone filing on paper must do so by Friday, October 31, or risk a £100 penalty. Online returns can still be submitted up until January 31.
Anyone worried about switching from paper to online filing can visit the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) website at hmrc.gov.uk/sa and click "Register for Self Assessment Online".
Alternatively call the Self Assessment helpline on 0845 9000 444, which is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.
