TWO people accused of running a brothel have appeared before the city’s magistrates.
Ai Qin Liu, aged 47, and Cheng Zhao Su, 41, both face an allegation of keeping or managing a brothel.
Su’s alleged offence relates to managing premises in Middle Street, Arboretum, Worcester, between Monday, June 23, and Friday, August 29.
Liu’s offence is related to a brothel in the West Midlands.
Neither indicated any plea after the charges were read out at Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday.
It is also alleged Su, of Weoley Castle Road, Birmingham, intentionally controlled the actions of other persons for or in expectation of gain for himself or another between Sunday, October 1, 2006 and Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
He also faces an allegation over the same period of intentionally facilitating travel within the UK by persons unknown, intending to do something to or in respect of those other persons during and after the journey, which if done would be an offence of controlling prostitution for gain.
Liu, of Church Road, Stourbridge, and Su will appear back at magistrates for a committal hearing alongside five other co-accused all charged in relation to prostitution on Monday, November 3.
