A MOPED rider who crashed when an overtaking car clipped him had to be taken to hospital with a broken arm.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident on the B4214 Bishops Frome to Bromyard road at Munderfield at about 7.45pm on Wednesday.
The rider's black Aprilia 50cc moped was overtaken by an unknown car which clipped the moped’s front as it pulled back into its lane, causing the rider to lose control and hit a stone wall.
The rider was taken to Hereford County Hospital accident and emergency and treated for two fractures and bruising. He was not kept in hospital. Meanwhile the moped suffered minor damage.
The car did not stop, although the driver may have been unaware of the incident.
Anyone who may have seen the incident or who may have information as to the identity of the car or driver involved are urged to call PC Bob Conway of the Roads Policing Team on 08457 444888 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
