A DRIVER injured his foot after two buses collided in Worcester city centre this morning.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was stood outside one of the buses when another one collided into the stationary vehicle causing it to run over his foot.

The incident involving a multi-coloured single decker Dennis bus and an Optare silver single decker happened at the entrance to CrownGate bus station, Angel Street, outside Angel Chef, about 9am.

A police spokesman said there were no passengers on either bus and added the road was closed for about an hour while officers investigated and fire crews from Worcester cleared diesel off the road.

The spokesman said: “It caused a little bit of chaos.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the patient was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital in a rapid response vehicle with a foot injury.

“He’s got a possible fracture in the foot,” he said.
