A SPECIAL workshop later this month will teach people how to make their communities more sustainable.
The session takes place at Worcestershire County Council’s Bishops Wood Centre in the grounds of the National Grid sub-station at Crossway Green, near Stourport.
The Friends of Bishops Wood are hosting the event from 7.30pm until 9.30pm on Thursday, September 18.
The meeting is an opportunity to explore and discuss what groups and individuals can do to help their local communities be more sustainable and less reliant on fossil fuels.
John Rhymer, head of the centre, said: “Local groups and congregations can play a pivotal role in helping bring about change and local sustainability both among their own members and in their local community.
"We hope that as many people as possible will come along and join us for this meeting.”
The meeting will involve John Iles, a regeneration consultant and director of Bewdley Development Trust, giving a short introduction on his involvement with a project with Marches Energy Agency (MEA) as part of the Grow with Wyre programme to support Bewdley, Callow Hill and Pound Green to become low carbon communities.
Roger Cook, a consultant with Penmark Limited and formerly principal planning and performance officer at Worcestershire County Council will run the workshop.
