AMATEUR archaeologists met with experts when they took finds along to a Worcester museum.
Dr Kevin Leahy, national adviser for the Portable Antiques Scheme, visited Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum to help budding collectors and excavators identify and record artefacts.
“It is the best job to have,” said Dr Leahy.
“There are not many archaeologists who handle, study and record such a large variety of archaeological finds and then get to meet their finders.”
The service was free and Dr Leahy was able to tell people if their finds qualified as ‘treasure’ under the Treasure Act 1996
