A NEW audio guide aims to make it easier for visitors to get the most out of Malvern’s famous sites and landmarks.

When West Malvern-based producer Peter Nash decided to produce a series of Walking Audio guides for some of the country’s most famous tourist spots, he knew the Malvern Hills had to be first on the list.

Now after four years in the making, the guide, in the form of a double CD, is available from the Malvern tourist information centre and visitor attractions in the area.

The guide contains six main walks on the Malvern Hills, taking in the likes of St Ann’s Well, British Camp and Gullet Quarry. The walks are narrated by a series of familiar faces, such as director of Malvern Hills Conservators Ian Rowat, chairman of the Malvern Spa Association Dr John Harcup and local author, researcher and artist Rose Garrard.

As well as the walks, the guide also includes a full audio tour of Malvern’s famous Morgan car factory, including an interview with owner Charles Morgan, and a look around Eastnor Castle with property manager Simon Foster. There are also tours of the Elgar Birthplace Museum and Schweppes’ Malvern Water plant in Colwall.

Mr Nash, whose company Monty Funk Productions has worked on several programmes for the BBC and produced audio tours for Tate Modern art gallery and Dartmoor national park, said: “The guide is primarily aimed at people visiting Malvern.

“If you are like me then you go on holiday and turn left out of the hotel instead of right and you miss all the best sights.

“You can put this guide on in the car or on your walkman, or just transfer it straight on to your iPod.”

The Malvern Hills Walking Audio guide costs £12.99.
