THE Olympics may be over for this year but youngsters at one cricket club in Worcestershire are already planning for the next one in four years’ time. Thanks to a grant of £2,400 donated to the Chaddesley Corbett Cricket Club from the Positive Activities for Children and Young People Grant, children can continue to practise and play the sport they love. The money was obtained thanks to Worcestershire county councillor Stephen Clee, who nominated the cricket club for the grant. Coun Clee said: “This grant of £2,400 will give the youngsters of Chaddesley and the local area the opportunity to play cricket. They will learn the disciplines of manners, how to succeed, teamwork, fitness, co-ordination, health and safety. They will be able to compete against other youngsters within Worcestershire towards what I hope will be a strong sporting team in 2012.”
