FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at a house next door to a flat which was gutted by a fire just two months ago.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called to the house in Homestead Avenue, Warndon Villages, Worcester, on Monday evening.
Alec Mackie, spokesman for the fire service, said: “One of the people opened the airing cupboard door to find smoke coming out, so quickly dialled 999.”
The fire service sent two crews from Worcester who put out the fire and prevented any further damage.
The home owner refused to comment.
As previously reported in your Worcester News, two homes were ruined by a fire in the Avenue in June.
The serious blaze, started by a spark from a bonfire, caused windows to explode and the roofs to collapse.
