TWO walkers had to be rescued from the Malvern Hills by the county air ambulance yesterday.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received the first call at around 12.50pm on Monday to Beacon Hill in Malvern and the County Air Ambulance from Strensham was dispatched to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews found a woman believed to be in her 30s with an ankle injury.
“The woman was treated at the scene by crews before being flown to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
The second call was received at around 2.10pm on Monday to Pinnacle Hill and again the County Air Ambulance from Strensham was dispatched to the scene.
“A man, believed to be in his 50s, had suffered a fractured ankle,” an ambulance service spokesman said.
“Crews immobilised his ankle with a vacuum splint before he was flown to Worcester Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
