MOTORISTS faced long bank holiday tailbacks this afternoon after a road accident forced the closure of one of Worcester’s key routes.
A car collided with a motorbike on the A4440 Crookbarrow Way, Whittington, near Worcester, shortly before 1pm today.
Ambulance crews were quickly on the scene and took an injured male in his 40s - believed to be the motorcyclist - to the Alexandra hospital in Redditch.
Cars had to be turned back while the A4440 remained closed in both directions, as police cleared the debris from the scene. The road was re-opened shortly after 3pm.
