A RESTAURANT which was forced to close after being deluged by last summer’s floods is finally back up and running.
Kus Kus on Teme Street, Tenbury Wells, was one of the businesses hit last year, when most of the street was covered in murky water as levels rose.
Despite opening earlier this year following extensive repairs, more work was needed this summer, causing the restaurant to close for most of the school holidays.
Paul Smith, chef and owner of Kus Kus, said: “It’s really great to be open again. The next thing we need is some better weather.”
The official reopening was carried out by Harriett Baldwin, conservative parliamentary candidate for West Worcestershire, and by Chris Dell, chairman of the Tenbury Tourism Group.
Miss Baldwin said: “I am delighted to be here to see Kus Kus reopen and look forward to coming back for a meal with friends.”
Mr Dell said he was also glad the business was back.
He said: “Kus Kus is one of the town’s most prominent restaurants and, as it is open all day, six days a week, it’s an important part of Tenbury’s tourism offer.”
Kus Kus is a listed building which is the former home of pioneer anaesthetist Henry Hill Hickman.
