THERE is some light at the end of the tunnel for Worcester residents planning to get out and about during the final bank holiday of the summer.
A slight improvement in the weather means people should be able to leave their umbrellas and waterproofs at home and enjoy the festivals, fetes and other outdoor activities without fear of getting soaked and chilled.
According to Worcester News weatherman Paul Damari the forecast is for a largely dry, pleasant weekend with temperatures ranging from 20C to 22C (68F to 72F), light winds and the occasional scattered shower while some places may escape rain altogether.
“Considering what the weather has been like, I do not think it is going to be too bad,” he said.
“Looking at the bank holiday weekend as a whole, there will be quite a lot of dry bright weather.
“If anyone is camping this weekend it should not be too bad. The night-time temperatures will be 11C to 14C (52F to 57F).”
Mr Damari says today will see sunshine with the odd shower while Saturday will be dry and bright with sunshine.
“It will be good for any outdoor events. But there could be a bit of patchy rain at night but it will not amount to much,” he said.
Sunday should have sunshine with the occasional shower, while the night is expected to be cloudier with drizzly showers.
There will be more sunshine on Monday with scattered showers but a lot of dry weather in between and some places may not get any showers at all.
“After the weather we have had recently, it will be quite pleasant,” added Mr Damari.
