LYCRA at the ready for this multifaceted, ingeniously-witty, thoroughly British sketch show by the newly crowned (and graduated) Kings of comedy Humphrey and Renshaw.
Following on from last year’s show ‘Warning: May Contain Nuts’, the Worcester born comedians return again to their home town to bring you a flush of new sketches in this adult show - Contains Small Parts.
For those of you who have caught this act before, you cannot fail to notice they are just getting better and better - and their act having become a lot more polished, while still keeping their ‘rough around the edges’ feel.
Ben Humphrey and Simon Renshaw do struggle at first - however this is only to find the right venue. Once they are in the building, they literally fall into their own show with some superb humour and physical performance on stage.
Some of my favourite sketches include the over-zealous drama teacher, the talk-show for thinkers and the Monty Python-inspired version of the female chat show Loose Women - which is just too accurate for words.
The pair are backed up by some very apt comedy actors and I do applaud the straight-faced George Watson for his pre-show warm-up act to really get you in the mood for what you have got in store.
The duo, who this year were directed by Worcester Live’s Chris Jaeger, skip effortlessly between monologues to sketches and even burst into song on a few occasions.
Contains Small Parts is not suitable for under 16s.
Booking is advisable and they will be at the Swan on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 from 8pm.
