WORCESTERSHIRE construction company Weaver PLC is investing around half a million pounds on a complete facelift of its Bromsgrove headquarters.
The Worcester Road company, which has been based at its current premises since 1964, has already completed a refurbishment of the building's exterior, which has been cleaned, repainted, all roofs insulated and waterproofed and window surrounds replaced or repaired.
Internally, the building is now being stripped out and re-planned to form light and airy open-plan offices. New comfort cooling and heating is being installed to all office areas and low-brightness lighting installed to improve energy efficiency and the working environment.
Weaver is also upgrading its electrical systems including fire and intruder alarms, emergency lighting plus improved data cabling and wireless networks.
The refurbishment will include the installation of new suspended ceilings, new floor finishes, an upgrade of reception area and main staircase, followed by a complete redecoration.
Steve Hudson, general manager/director at Weaver, said: "We are bringing the fabric of our headquarters, both exterior and interior, up to 21st century standards, which will result in both improved energy efficiency and appearance.
"The improvements will also greatly enhance the working environment for our staff and we are looking forward to having the project completed by the end of the summer."
